As state Sen. Beth Bye skied down Boulevard in West Hartford and Capitol Avenue in Hartford this morning, she said the residents who were outside shoveling snow cheered her on.
"One guy wanted to take a picture," said the West Hartford Democrat.
Bye said she woke up this morning to discover perfect conditions for cross-country skiing. The temperature was right, and there was enough snow on the ground, she said.
"There's just not too many days when I can do it," Bye said. "I saw an opportunity."
After helping to shovel her driveway, Bye said she grabbed her skis and headed to the legislative office building in Hartford. She was supposed to meet with a constituent at 11 a.m.
