The state's Democratic congressional delegation is unanimously shunning the U.S. Senate candidacy of Susan Bysiewicz in favor of her intra-party opponent, U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy, but her spokesman says she isn't hurt by it.

In fact, Bysiewicz spokesman Mark Bergman says it simply shows what a D.C. insider Murphy is.

"It should surprise no one when a member of Congress endorses another member of Congress, and there is no doubt that Congressman Chris Murphy has a lot of support in the inner hallways of Washington,'' Bergman said via email.

"But Susan has support where it counts - right here in Connecticut, in the towns and cities in every corner of our state. She has support among Mayors, First Selectman, State Legislators, Town Committee Members, and Democratic grassroots activists in Connecticut that will help decide this nomination.  That's a big difference in this race."

The Murphy camp this week rolled out the news that it has won the backing of the state's entire congressional delegation: U.S. Reps. John Larson, Joe Courtney, Rosa DeLauro and Jim Himes. All of the members are Democrats.
