Hartford Courant cartoonist Bob Englehart is following the status of the state budget and Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's 17-town listening tour that stretches from Greenwich to New London.
The state legislature is studying Malloy's two-year, $40 billion budget proposal that includes tax increases of $1.5 billion in the first year. The budget and tax committees are expected to deliver their recommendations by late April, and Malloy is pushing for an overall state budget resolution in early May - which would be far earlier than recent years.
