More fundraising numbers from Connecticut's 5th District: Democrat Elizabeth Esty of Cheshire says she's raised $172,211 in the first quarter of the 2012 cycle.
"I am thrilled with the amount of both moral and financial support I've gotten already, just in the short amount of time that I've been running," Esty said in a press release this morning announcing her totals.
"I am working hard to earn the support of the voters around northwest Connecticut and I am excited to have the chance to do that every day for the next year and a half."
Esty, a former state representative, announced her bid for Congress earlier this week. Dan Roberti of Kent is also seeking the Democratic nomination.
