An East Hampton Middle School computer instructor has been arrested on federal child pornography charges.
Richard D. Hendricks, 31, of Ashford was charged Wednesday with possession of child pornography and the receipt and distribution of child pornography.
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations office in Boston said that Hendricks is accused of "allegedly using his credit card to purchase access to the live online viewing of minors in the Philippines performing sex acts.''
Hendricks is now in federal custody, and he faces a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
A graduate, with high honors, from E. O. Smith High School in Mansfield, Hendricks attended Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, where he received bachelor's and master's degrees.
