U.S. Rep. John B. Larson of East Hartford is the featured guest this week on "The Stan Simpson Show'' on FOX CT.
Larson, a veteran member of Congress who was elected in November 1998, has risen through the ranks to become one of the most influential Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
On the half-hour program, which was taped this week at the Fox studios in Hartford, Larson said he is hoping for improvements in "a very fragile, slow recovery that is teetering now.''
"It's imperative that we raise the debt ceiling,'' Larson told Simpson. "The Republicans cannot play chicken with the country's economy.''
On foreign affairs, Larson said that President Barack Obama "did consult with Congress, but not in accordance with the War Powers Act'' regarding Libya.
