Most of the Connecticut congressional delegation has been out and about in the aftermath of last weekend's storm. U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney toured the devastation in Madison and Old Saybrook yesterday; Jim Himes met with constituents at Bridgeport City Hall and toured Fairfield County communities impacted by the storm; Chris Murphy has criss-crossed his district, meeting with local officials to find out what the federal government can do to help.
U.S. Rep. John Larson, in the midst of a jobs tour, visited storm-damaged Bristol on Monday and met with Mayor Art Ward to laying the groundwork for federal assistance. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, just back from Pakistan, attended a briefing at the state's Emergency Operations Center yesterday and is assessing the storm damage in Ridgefield, Bristol and New Haven today. And Sen. Joseph Lieberman, co-chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, which oversees FEMA, was briefed at the EOC this morning.
What about U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro? Several communities in her district, notably East Haven, were among the hardest hit by the tropical storm.
DeLauro was on the Amalfi coast, said her spokeswoman, Kaelan Richards, said via email earlier this afternoon. The congresswoman, whose family hails from that region of Italy, is on her way back to the district, Richards said.

UPDATE: DeLauro's office announced her schedule for the weekend. On Saturday morning, she'll attend a "help fair" in East Haven. Then, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., she plans to tour 3rd District towns impacted by the storm, including Guilford, Branford, West Haven and Milford.
And, Richards added, "Congresswoman DeLauro cut short her time with her family, and will be home on Friday."
