Who needs the government? Libertarian Party in CT organizes its own storm relief effort

The Libertarian Party of Connecticut is organizing an ice-drive for those without power in Eastern Connecticut.

Here's how it works, according to an email from Dan Reale, the party's state chairman (who also happens to be running for Congress): Anyone with power is asked to fill up as many containers as they can with water. Plastic sandwich bags, soda bottles--it doesn't matter.

On Friday at noon, bring the frozen containers of water to the park at Plainfield Town Hall, where they will be distributed to residents without power.

"If we combine efforts and get the word out, we can help those hit hardest by the power outages from Hurricane Irene,'' Reale said in the email.

Ron Paul would approve.
