The group called the Leadership Institute is hosting a one-day seminar for would-be conservative activists in Wethersfield this weekend.
Led by Bryan Bernys, formerly New Hampshire field director for Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, and Steven Sutton, a former Capitol Hill staffer, the Conservative Activist School aims to teach budding activists the tools of the trade. Like how to handle negative information, how to communicate your message and "how to turn casual supporters into energized activists."
"This training is invaluable for any conservative activist who wants to make a difference in a public policy battle or political campaign,'' according to the group's website.
"Ideal attendees are citizens who are ready to take the next step to get more involved, including those interested in volunteering or working for a conservative candidate, cause, or issue at the local or state level. The school is suitable for novice or experienced activists, young and old alike."
