Greenwich cable executive Ned Lamont says that both Democrat Dannel Malloy and Republican Tom Foley had "too much caffeine'' before their slugfest this week that has become known as "the brawl at The Bushnell.''

Lamont made his comments during the taping of "The Real Story'' that will be broadcast at 10:30 a.m. Sunday on Fox CT. Lamont and Republican Rob Simmons, who are working as consultants to the station during the election campaign, will appear for the full 30 minutes in a program devoted entirely to politics.

They will analyze the U.S. Senate debate in the first segment and then the governor's race in the second segment. The third segment focuses on the Congressional races, where Simmons cited a recent poll, released by CT Capitol Report, that shows state Sen. Sam Caligiuri of Waterbury ahead of incumbent U.S. Rep. Christopher Murphy by 5 percentage points. Murphy's campaign has dismissed the poll in the battle for the Fifth Congressional District, which touches the borders of Massachusetts and New York State in Connecticut's northwest corner.
