The Hartford Courant has endorsed Democratic U.S. Rep. Joseph Courtney over Republican newcomer Janet Peckinpaugh in the Second Congressional District.
The huge district stretches from Stonington to Madison to Suffield and is easily the largest district in the state.
Courtney won the seat in 2006 by defeating U.S. Rep. Rob Simmons, who challenged Linda McMahon this year before losing in the Republican primary in August.
