The Suffolk poll has a lot of interesting findings -- though Rick Green, among others, expressed skepticism about the size of Richard Blumenthal's lead.

The poll showed how the Working Families line is boosting Democratic fortunes across the board (the group has endorsed one Republican, state Sen. Len Fasano.)

"Voting Working Families sends a message that politicians must focus more on the needs of ordinary citizens not just lobbyists and political insiders, but the vote still counts for the candidates who have the strongest record on issues that really matter,'' said Jon Green, executive director of the Connecticut Working Families Party. "It's the protest vote that counts."

Suffolk dubs Plainfield, a burg of about 15,000 people in Windham County near the Rhode Island border, a bellweather town. The poll cites the fact that, In the 2006, general election in Connecticut, Plainfield was within one percentage point of the state totals for all gubernatorial and U.S. Senate candidates.

Plainfield went for Obama in 2008, 3,372 to 2,743 for McCain.
