The Middletown Press reports that on Sunday in Cromwell, Democratic state Rep. James O'Rourke had the police oust former selectman Myron P. Johnson from a function at the O'Rourke re-election headquarters.

"Now he calls the police?" was reportedly Johnson's verbal reaction.

It was an apparent reference to a 2009 incident that brought O'Rourke under police investigation -- although he ultimately was not charged -- after a woman to whom O'Rourke gave ride from a Cromwell bar was later found dead.

O'Rourke has told police he gave Carol Sinisgalli a ride home to Rocky Hill on the night of Jan. 21, 2009, after she got into his car uninvited. After becoming combative, Sinisgalli got out of the car and disappeared over a snow bank, O'Rourke told police. Her frozen body was found the next day, about a half-mile from her home in Rocky Hill.
