World Wrestling Entertainment will hand out merchandise at select polling places throughout the state on Tuesday -- "to celebrate the victory of restoring voters' right to wear WWE clothing at the polls."
Vince McMahon, CEO of the company and husband of U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon, made the announcement this afternoon.
"I can't think of a better way for WWE fans to celebrate their constitutional rights and freedom of expression while voting than to proudly wear the WWE merchandise that Connecticut Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz attempted to prohibit from the polls," Vince said in a press release.
The company says that "out of respect for voters from all political parties," those seeking WWE swag will have to get it at least 75 feet from the polling place.
The company did not specify which polling locations will have the gear available and says items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
