A Republican state senator has introduced a bill to name the scale house at the I-91 truck weigh station in Middletown after state trooper Kenneth Hall, who was killed last September when a speeding pickup truck veered off that interstate highway and crashed into his cruiser parked on the shoulder.
Proposed Senate Bill 712, introduced by state Sen. John A. Kissel, R-Enfield, would "honor Trooper Kenneth Hall, a Connecticut state trooper killed in the line of duty," by naming the Middletown scale house for him at the I-91 northbound weigh station.
Hall, a 22-year state police veteran, was in his parked patrol car Sept. 2 on the I-91 shoulder in Enfield - filling out paperwork after pulling over another driver - when a pickup truck driven by Michael Pajak crashed into it.
