FIC: We don't push poll

The Family Institute of Connecticut says it has nothing to do with the infamous "push poll" making news in the special senate election in Meriden.

"Neither FIC, nor FIC Action, nor FIC Action Committee had anything to do with an alleged push-poll which supposedly targeted Len Suzio's opponent in the 13th Senate District's Feb. 22nd special election,'' the group wrote on its blog. "FIC Action Committee endorsed Suzio, a longtime  pro-life activist, in an email on January 18th and promoted his candidacy again in emails on January 21st and January 27th. None of those three statements even mentioned his opponent."

The push poll, first reported by Pat Scully on his Hanging Shad blog, reportedly asked at least one voter if he or she would be "comfortable or uncomfortable with a state senator who is openly gay?"

Suzio, a Republican, is running against Democrat Tom Bruenn in a special election to fill the seat left open when Democrat Tom Gaffey resigned earlier this month.
