It's been widely reported recently that former Republican Gov. M. Jodi Rell, along with members of her family and a circle of friends and loyalists, gained exclusive access to dozens of low-digit license plates for their cars late in 2010 as her term was ending.
But what hasn't come out is who they took those plates away from, in order to give them to one of their own.
Now it turns out they took one such plate away from the family of a former governor -- a Republican, no less -- and reissued it in December to a lawyer who worked part time in Rell's office, former state GOP Chairman Herb Shepardson of West Hartford.
