Hartford Courant columnist Kevin Rennie is raising questions about Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's nominee for insurance commissioner - Thomas Leonardi of Northington Partners.
Rennie is questioning the number of jobs that were created from corporate tax credits, including details from a lawsuit involving Simsbury-based Executive Risk Inc., which was later acquired by Chubb.
A report by the General Assembly's Program Review and Investigations Committee showed that only 128 jobs were created in about 15 years after the state awarded $52 million in tax credits for a program that Leonardi supported at its creation.
