A new study, reported by Reuters, says that the medical marijuana market is worth $1.7 billion per year in the United States.
The issue has come to the forefront this year in Connecticut as Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is in favor of changing the state's law.
The issue has been around for years, dating back to an impassioned debate on the floor of the state House of Representatives that led to its defeat in May 2003. Since then, the idea has increasingly gained acceptance.
