Below is the text of the letter that Daniel Livingston, chief negotiator for the State Employees' Bargaining Agent Coalition, or SEBAC, wrote late Friday to state Attorney General George Jepsen, requesting an investigation into the Yankee Institute.

Livingston claims that the conservative-leaning think tank has illegally tried to disrupt state employee unions' ratification process for the tentative concessions deal between SEBAC and the Malloy administration.

The Yankee Institute's director, Fergus Cullen, strongly denies that, telling the Associated Press: "Everything we do is out in the open with our name on it. ... The idea that we would do something behind the scenes, pretending to be somebody else, is just preposterous."

Jepsen hasn't responded yet.

Here is Livingston's letter:

June 17, 2011
Honorable George Jepsen
Attorney General
55 Elm Street
Hartford, CT 06106

Re: Request to Investigate

On behalf of the State Employees' Bargaining Agent Coalition ("SEBAC"), we
hereby request that your office investigate possible violations of state law by
the Yankee Institute by and through its employee, Zachary Janowski, who
purports to be an "investigative reporter" and who also publishes a blog
under the name of "Raising Hale."
