Courant Staff Writer Jon Lender reports:
Union representatives for Connecticut state correction officers traveled to the Hartford Correctional Center on Monday morning to talk about prison crowding and other safety and security concerns.
AFSCME Locals 387 and 1565 have filed an injunction over the Malloy administration's decision to close Bergin Correctional Institute in Mansfield. According to union representatives, "that closure has led to hundreds of inmates getting transferred to other facilities, making Connecticut's prisons more overcrowded and more dangerous."
