FIC v. Green

The Family Institute of Connecticut struck back against Courant columnist Rick Green, calling his column today a "lazy excuse for journalism" in a fundraising email to supporters.

The FIC email also invokes the crackdown in Tiananmen Square, which occured 21 years ago today, when discussing last night's Enfield board of education decision to drop further legal action against the ACLU. (The ACLU had sued to stop the district from holding graduation ceremonies in a church, asserting it was unconstitutional; on Monday, a federal judge agreed.)

"The BOE took a cowardly position last night. They betrayed the trust that was placed in them to act according to the commitment they had made. They betrayed their commitment,'' the FIC email states,

"FIC was the only organization that was willing to lead this fight. We succeeded in persuading Enfield to stand up to the ACLU for seven weeks. But it was seven weeks too much for the anti-family forces who control the commanding heights of culture in our state."
