Lowell Weicker's Summer of '10 tour stopped off in Rocky Hill last week, where the former guv sat down with Chanel 3's Dennis House for a taping of "Face the State."
Weicker tackled all the big topics, including the governor's race, the U.S. Senate race, Gov. Rell, former Gov. Rowland and, of course, himself. If you were busy getting ready for that holiday picnic and missed it, you can watch the interview on the WFSB website.
By the way, Weicker's harsh criticism of Democrat Richard Blumenthal (and his defense of Republican Linda McMahon and the WWE, on whose board he sits) didn't sit well with the Connecticut Post's editorial board.
"If Weicker didn't have such close ties to McMahon, it'd be fine for him, as a former politician, to say whatever he wanted about the current race. If he were just a run-of-the-mill WWE board member, we'd take his comments for what they were and discard them,'' the editorial states.
"But Weicker's history coupled with his close ties to McMahon make it inappropriate for him to publicly thrash Blumenthal. He should refrain from doing so in the future."
