Ed Patru, Linda McMahon's spokesman, said this morning's Quinnipiac University poll showing the Republican U.S. Senate candidate closing the gap with Democrat Richard Blumenthal is consistent with what the campaign has been seeing.
"Voters of all political affiliations want something different, they are taking a close look at Linda, and they like what they see,'' Patru said in a statement.
"Linda understands that small businesses are the key to economic recovery. Voters recognize she has a firsthand understanding of the impact higher taxes and increased government regulation have on small businesses and their ability to create jobs. Voters are growing increasingly convinced that politicians who have spent their careers in government simply don't understand the damage government is doing to small business, and they just don't believe sending another career politician to Washington will help turn our economy around."
So I am guessing that, in his view, this would not be one of those times when "pollsters just get it wrong."
