When asked about this morning's Q poll, Mindy Myers, who is managing Democrat Richard Blumenthal's U.S. Senate campaign lashed out against Republican Linda McMahon.
The poll shows McMahon gaining on Blumenthal -- she is 10 percentage points behind the popluar attorney general. In January, Blumenthal held a 41-point edge. But Blumenthal has yet to run a single TV ad, while McMahon has been all over the airwaves.
"Linda McMahon is spending $50 million in an attempt to buy this Senate seat with negative attacks bombarding Connecticut voters,'' Myers said in a statement.
"But she can't buy Dick Blumenthal's record of standing up to the special interests for the people of Connecticut. So far, all Linda McMahon has demonstrated is that she's got the money to protect her own interests in a 'politics as usual' campaign of negative attacks. The people of Connecticut know the difference and they know Dick Blumenthal will fight for them in the Senate."
