Many political insiders are wondering how many voters will actually come out to the polls for the primaries on Tuesday, August 10.
In the same way, some were scratching their heads about how many citizens were actually watching the debate between Democrats Dannel Malloy and Ned Lamont at 3 p.m. on a hot Tuesday afternoon in August.
Channel 3 anchor Dennis House, who hosted the debate with WNPR's John Dankosky, now has the answers. Since the debate was replayed at night on Connecticut Public Television, House says it was the "most watched debate of the season.''
House reports that General Hospital, the long-running soap opera, had the highest ratings between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday with a 3.3 rating and a 9 share.
The Democratic gubernatorial debate came in second place among all shows at that hour, hitting a 2.1 rating and a 6 share. The total rating, including CPTV, was 2.7, House said. In addition, the debate was played on WNPR radio twice.
