In a continuing series, The Hartford Courant is looking at the political commercials in the governor's race and the U.S. Senate race.
Today's story by reporter Matthew Kauffman says that a recent, third-party commercial by the Democratic Governors Association "makes an accusation it can't back up'' regarding The Bibb Company that was owned by Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Foley until he lost control of the firm in 1996.
Foley is running in a dead heat, according to the polls, in the race for governor against Democrat Dannel Malloy.
