Some liberal Democrats aren't happy with one of their own, Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Himes. There's his vote against the jobs bill, his stance as a deficit hawk and several other key positions he's taken on tax and spending issues.

But Jon Kantrowitz, writing on My Left Nutmeg, urged his fellow progressives to stick with Himes, if only to block Republican challenger Dan Debicella.

"Any failure to vote for Jim Himes is tantamount to a vote for anti-women's rights,  extreme right winger, Dan Dibecella,'' Kantrowitz writes. "So go into the voting booth, hold your nose with your left hand, and vote for Jim Himes on the Working Families line with your right hand."

By using the Working Families line (instead of the Democratic one), activists hope to send a message to Himes that "he can't continue to rely on our support with this kind of voting record,'' Kantrowitz added.
