Don't the Obamas know there's more to Connecticut than Stamford?

The campaign of Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal has been pretty mum on First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to Connecticut next week.

But The Hour of Norwalk is reporting that FLOTUS will appear at the Palace Theater in Stamford Monday. Staff Writer Tom Evans cited a police official as the source.

So that makes three visits by the Obamas to Connecticut since Oct. 2009 and each time, Stamford has been the host city. I guess it makes sense. Stamford is minutes from New York City, and its Gold Coast location makes it appealing as a fundraising stop. For a busy couple like Barack and Michelle Obama, it's certainly more convenient than trekking up to the Quiet Corner for a few hours.

Yet other pols manage to find the time to diversify their itineraries. Joe Biden made it up to Hartford last December to raise cash for Chris Dodd and Bill Clinton was in New Haven last month to stump for Blumenthal.
