Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal appears to have stemmed his slide in the polls and now has a double-digit lead over Republican Linda McMahon.

That's according to this morning's Quinnipiac University poll, which has Blumenthal leading McMahon, 54 to 43 among likely voters.

"After Linda McMahon had climbed to within 3 points of Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, he has stopped her momentum and increased his lead by 8 points in two weeks,'' poll Director Doug Schwartz said. "Linda McMahon may have peaked too soon and her advertising saturation could be causing 'McMahon fatigue.'

The results of this latest Q poll, conducted from Oct. 7 to 11, put it in line with a slew of recent surveys,, both public and internal, that show Blumenthal leading McMahon by anywhere from 8 and 13 percentage points. The candidates held two televised debates on the dates the poll began and ended.
