Remember the infamous Associated Press photo of lawmakers playing solitaire on their computers during a marathon debate on the state budget last year? Well, turns out solitaire wasn't the only distraction.

That same photograph showed another lawmaker's laptop connected to ESPN.com, where a baseball game was playing. And now, Jon Searles, that lawmaker's opponent, is using the picture in a web ad alleging that the incumbent was watching baseball instead of focusing on the budget debate.

"What would happen if your boss caught you watching baseball while you were supposed to be working?'' intones an announcer. "That's exactly what the Associated Press caught Henry Genga doing on taxpayer time when he was supposed to be balancing the state budget.''

Genga is an East Hartford Democrat who was first elected in 2006. Searles is a Republican who believes in "traditional family values, the ability of the individual to succeed and personal responsibility,'' according to his campaign website
